Thoughts for Today - September 8, 2009

Outside my window ... Cloudy this morning, and they say there might be some drizzle or rain later on today. This whole week may be like that - damp and grey. I wonder if I'll get to hang any of my laundry out on the line this week?

I am thinking ... that I am a bit sad to see the summer fading away, even though autumn is my favorite season.

I am thankful that ... we had a productive weekend, even though the biggest project did not get accomplished. The little things (fixing the lawnmower, rebuilding the weed wacker, mowing the lawn, washing the walls and taping off the floor in the room to be painted, running cable to the bedroom) outweighed the fact that the big thing (getting the room covered with primer) did not get done. I'm also thankful that we managed to have some fun, too, over the weekend - although we both could have used some more playtiime and a little less work.

From the kitchen ... I have some venison tenderloins thawing in the frig. Need to figure out something different to do with them, something other than what I normally make.

I am wearing ... still in my jammies. Need to grab a shower soon.

I am reading ... Hmm, same thing as my posts last week. Text for class, and trying to find time for some reading-for-fun. Thinking about removing this little bit from my "Thoughts for Today" posts, just because it doesn't change very often.

I am hoping ... that the sun comes out today.

I am creating ... hmm, not sure what the day will bring creatively. But, in an efffort to answer the question, I will probably be creating a grocery list and a schedule for the week - does that count??

I am praying ... for two friends of mine, who I recently learned are going through some very hard things in trying to start their families. I never know what to say when I hear about things like this - I feel like I can never find the right words to say. To my dear friends, if you are reading this, please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope that God can give you the comfort and guidance you need right now. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Around the house ... Various odds-n-ends need to get done today, to get things under some sort of control after having been away for the weekend. I also need to do some work for my classes. Never a dull moment, and always plenty to keep me occupied.

A few plans for the rest of the day ... Grab a shower, maybe do a load of laundry, do some schoolwork, and then head over to the career consulting group that I've been working with. I think today's session is about how to "work" a job fair.
